Nerf Vortex - Great fun for a 12 year old

I bought this Nerf Vortex for my son's 12th birthday on a whim. He's rising out of issues like Nerf guns (where did the time go?), but I believed he'd nonetheless get a kick out of this over-sized, high-tech gizmo. And...I was appropriate. He loves it. His eyes were huge when he opened the package, his smile filling his face. He promptly inserted the numerous batteries this issue takes and made for that door. I could hear him shouting to his sister to watch as he shot the discs like a Nerf Vortex in the front yard. I hadn't observed him that pleased about a present within a when. Is it the sort of toy which has any studying value? No. Is it a toy that he'll play with more than and more than? Quite possibly not. But...he loves it now, he's playing with it and his close friends, he's running about outside like a madman, and that is sufficient for me. Additional bonus: I think it is a hoot, as well. I love receiving out with him and shooting away. Encouraged!

In between my children and I, we've got all of the Nerf Vortex Nitron. I've been a fan of nerf guns considering the fact that I was small, and am impressed with this particular new line. They are tough, shoot far, and accurately. The disk does have a bit of 'zing' to it; you might really feel it if it hits you, particularly at close range, but this really is the trade-off for longer range. They also ricochet, off of practically everything! The neat side to this, is that it is possible to now try and bounce shots off walls, and so on. The downside, is that the small discs wind up in the darndest locations... My oldest has this Nerf Vortex Nitron, and loves it! (to me, it is a bit noisy, and employs a gaggle of batteries to propel the little discs on their way, but he's a big fan from the mechanized shooting action, so I guess it's worth it!

When NERF announced the Vortex line of blasters earlier inside the year, and the disc-shaped foam projectiles had been going to be used, I was skeptical. I thought, why would they abandon the tried-and-true darts and go with discs? It just didn't appear doable that the discs could be as correct since the darts.

Effectively, per week right after finding my Nerf Vortex and playing with it, I am a firm convert. This issue ROCKS! This can be the primary Nerf Vortex (that is not modded) exactly where I can get the projectiles to go regularly where I aim the blaster. And even though the discs in flight appear deceptively slow, it is still swiftly sufficient to smack you, appropriate when you imagine "that thing's so slow, I can easily move out from the way (à la Neo in the Matrix movies!). Because I've gotten the Nitron, I've also picked up the Vigilon, Proton, and Praxis from a nearby shop, and I can attest that they all shoot accurately, in spite of the Nitron currently being a flywheel blaster and also the other three currently being spring-powered.
